Erik Olson mun þjálfa FSu næstu tvö árin en félagið gekk frá ráðningu Olson á dögunum. Kjartan Atli Kjartansson lét af starfanum að lokinni síðustu leiktíð en Selfyssingar hafa nú fyllt hans skarð með hinum 26 ára gamla Olson.
Olson á ekki langt að sækja þjálfunina en faðir hans hefur þjálfað í NCAA deildinni í fyrstu, annarri og þriðju deild bandaríska háskólaboltans. Sjálfur lék Colson í fjögur ár með Linfield College en hefur einnig leikið í Skotlandi, Þýskalandi og nú nýverið í Ástralíu.

Why Iceland and why FSu:
I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with many quality coaches over my playing career and had reached a point where I was interested in building a program. somewhere that I could rely heavily on the development of young players while teaching young athletes how to play the game. Once I was contacted by FSu and offered the opportunity to take over the Academy and work with athletes on a day to day basis, while also having the club team I felt it was a perfect fit. I believe that with the strong sponsorship, great facilities and foundation already in place at FSu, along with the work ethic and approach I will bring that we are going to have enormous success in the future.
Goals for FSu:
We will establish a culture and a brand based on very specific principles. How we play will be a direct reflection of what we believe in. Offensively we will share the ball and play unselfishly which speaks to our mutual respect and trust. We will be hard-nosed on defense which attests to our toughness. These principles are non-negotiable. We will work diligently to impress upon each member of our program how important core values like respect, trust, humility, and passion truly are. If we play together and believe in each other we will accomplish great things. Our foundation will be to always do things the right way and have the right approach, believing that how we prepare and condition ourselves will be what determines our eventual success and lead to the growth of the Academy and establishing ourselves in the Express League. I believe that as a result of this approach, and with the great instruction and facilities at FSu and in the town of Selfoss that we will be able to attract the best and brightest student-athletes to our Academy and Club.
